Strange sports

Bossaball: It comes from Spain and it’s very popular in Eastern Europe. You can play this on a special inflatable court with trampolines. It’s similar to volleyball, but it also includes elements of football, gymnastics and capoeira. It’s a team game and there are strict rules. The “samba referee” oversees the game with the help of a whistle, a microphone and percussion instruments.

Parkour: This comes from France. You can do what you like: there are no rules and no teams. The idea is to get across the city without touching the ground, and you have to be moving all the time. It’s really acrobatic, and as you jump and climb, you need to be careful! Also, you must respect private property.

Zorbing: The idea comes from New Zealand. This is great fun! In zorbing, a person rides inside a giant transparent plastic ball – called a zorb – as it rolls down a hill. In some cases, people run inside the orb as it rolls along a horizontal ground. Two or three people can do it together. You can even do it on water!
